The Abbood Family - Donnae

Donnae –  Psalm 46:5

(Oil on Wood panel, 50x50cm, 2025)

“God is within her, she will not fall...”

This painting carries a quiet strength — the kind that does not need to speak to be heard.
Donnae is grace anchored in reality. She is steady, nurturing, grounded, and gentle — and yet there is iron in her spirit. Not hardness, but holy endurance.

The Lord is within her.
And because of that, she cannot be shaken.

There were seasons when the ground beneath their marriage felt like it was breaking apart — when addiction and distance and heartbreak seemed louder than hope. But she did not let go. She prayed. She waited. She believed for redemption long before she could see it.

And God met her there.
He met him there.
Restoration came. Healing came. Love returned with depth and clarity.

The scripture scratched into the layers of paint is not decoration — it is identity. It speaks of the character of a godly woman: steady, wise, enduring, faithful. This is the truth written into her soul long before the brush touched the canvas.

This portrait comes from her husband’s favorite photo of her — not because she is posed or composed, but because this is the way he sees her:
the safe place, the home, the gentle strength that held the story together when everything was breaking.

Their family stands openly in their testimony. They don’t hide what was hard — they share it, because what God restored is too beautiful to keep quiet. Their table is open. The door is open. Her kitchen is a place where the world is fed — body and soul.

She loves her husband fiercely. She supports his calling, his growth, his music, his story. But she is not in his shadow. She is the light beside him.
